URGENT ACTION NEEDED | WE NEED YOUR HELP TO STOP $880 BILLION IN PROPOSED MEDICAID CUTS

SDCMS and CMA are asking all California physicians to email your Members of Congress ASAP through ‘Physicians for Medicaid’ and urge them to stop the Medicaid cuts. We particularly need physicians in Republican districts to write and call.

Please share stories with us and your Representatives about the impact these cuts will have on your patients if they lose coverage and benefits and the burden of uncompensated care on your practice, hospitals, EDs, and clinics in your communities. These cuts will also cause substantial job losses and disproportionately harm rural areas.

We are facing an existential threat to the Medicaid program and need all physicians to advocate to protect patients and providers from harm. There is also a portal for non–physicians to get involved so please share with your friends, family and patients.

We are fighting hard against these cuts. Dr. Will Tseng and Dr. Vik Gulati represented CMA and SDCMS, joining with Rep. Juan Vargas, Rep. Sara Jabobs, Rep. Mike Levin and business as well as health care and community leaders last Friday at a news conference at the San Diego County Administration Building to oppose the Medicaid cuts and the devastating impact they would have on health care and the economy in San Diego County.
